Galloping George

I am not doing as much painting as I should at the moment.
Hard to believe I havent finished the pub signs yet.

Having returned from a week in the lake district.
This is a particularly complex post (for me). I need to lay out what I am up to.

*The Icon"
God for Harry, England and St George.

LANGDALE
We stayed in Langdale with the pikes in view from our front window

Aydin and I went on two particularly gruelling walks,
the first was around the Langdale Pikes,

The long and winding road.

Troughton Beck

Mind the memory of it becomes rather fuzzy after the second walk around Scafell Pike, which I was told was the highest mountain in Britain.

Path up to Scafel Pike

The Pike itself

View from the dangerous bit around the corner.
We missed the path turnings twice which would have made it comfortable.
And ended up climbing over a dangerously steep and high ridge, having two large dogs made the whole thing more frightening and more awkward. Toffee nearly fell backwards on me up the first climb - thankfully, he trusts me and didnt struggle when I caught hold of and supported him. Wilson panicked when Aydin lifted him up about five feet and nearly knocked all of us down a very steep incline.

I am working at present of producing C.D.s of music I mainly made with Phil Gray and Colin Browne in the seventies.

I am collecting a group of waterfall images - looking for info on how water splashes onto, through and around boulders. Also how small trees root themselves to the boulders in amidst the falling water.

I am hoping to use this information in relation to the watermills at Bharmor and the cascade paintings started a few months ago.

I have recently joined a web site linked to images linked to words found in the english dictionary.
Images of signs are used of words found in nature (both rural and urban!)
These words also require explanations: an aspect I plan to thouroughly explore, giving account of my unfolding life!.

Part of what used to be a walkers pub in the lake district but now has become familyised like going into somebody else's front room. You can see from the image where the extension was slapped onto the existing bar.
And finally my dog Toffee has just had the snip, to relieve prostrate problems. He seems old all of a sudden, and is far from happy at the moment..

U.S.B & Zips

I have discovered a similar problem inherent in zips on weatherproof coats and connections with and to digital machinery.
The rest of the device may be in perfect working condition but when the connecting bit goes, you are fucked.
This has just happened (again) to my last waterproof coat.
And also to the machine that converts Cassettes into Digital.

Early stuff from mainly Phil in his bedsit in Ashtead Surrey, This was us regrouping after we had left Art College and hangs mainly around his ideas for songs.

The first recordings we made in Balham with Colin Browne and Phil Gray, Pity I wasnt the name of a colour.

Easter

To talk of peace and brotherhood and what might be the cost, a man he did it long ago
And they hung him on a cross, long ago, far away, but those things like that dont happen nowadays
New profile for face book.

LIMANO
I didnt realize there were so many collages in this note book, I came across it whilst I was looking for something else and decided it needed some air.
 Front Cover
We stayed in the hilly part of Tuscany for six weeks over the summer and rented a room in a small village
I made this book alongside my son Aydin whilst he was doing a couple of large collages for his O levels.
Tourist offices were raided for brochures and the like, many of these collages reflected the winding streets and arch ways. Tunnel after tunnel and all open - not a lot of crime, not petty anyway!
The Chestnut Virgin
Photo in a collage with an empty shrine, I felt it could do with a virgin and child.
Most of the surrounding trees were chestnuts and had sustained the village in times of need.
Summer event in a neighbouring village
 Bania de Lucca
Rock Maiden
Unfortunately we didnt have much of a view from our place.

Back from the Dales

Guess I'd better meet you down the road

We returned from Settle in the Dales on the edge of the National Park four days ago on Saturday.
It was quite a week, I would certainly have been happy with that sunny weather if it were in June.
I did a fair bit of trecking around and about with Aydin, who took a varied array of photos on his mobile. He had a map reading assessment on the Friday which he passed which puts him on route to becoming a walk leader, I think.

Attermire Scar
Its a beautiful part of the country, there were a certain amount of older people around in Settle, who all looked happy and radient. - maybe not a bad place to retire to!

Towards Barrel Sykes
I sadly dont have an image for Suger Loaf Hill, my son decided to wipe it off the memory to make room for other images, maybe I will look for something on google.

Gordale Scar
The day after our return, I went to the opening (to the public) at "Edible Eastside" It was a nice afternoon, people turned up, the weather kept fine and the scheme is looking good.
Unfortunately the three guys who run the affair havent as yet scripted me into the ongoing plans for the place.
My final comment to Rob Hewitt was I would rather someone disliked me than thought of me as a pest. All assured me that they wanted me to do some work there, but I do feel it's up to them now.

Nice Style

Contact made with four of my old friends from Epsom School of Art of whom I have not seen since the early 80's (variably).

Brana Radovic has retired from editing graphics at the Financial Times
Noddy is me
Richard Butler still plays with the Furs but has restarted painting again.
Phil Gray has retired from head of Graphic at Norwich and
I havent actually passed words with Tim Mapson as yet but he seems still crazy after all these years.

My photo
In this brace of blogs, I am trying to sum up the artistic goals I am aiming for. Maybe, more for myself rather than other people although I would like others to read it. I intend to use the sites as places to which I invite people, I dont expecr an immediate rash of people keen to pore over my life. I see it as a kind of glorified C.V. that will probably never get finished.
