A Long Train Journey

This piece of work was started in Folkestone in 1983.
Its all largely recycled.
Nothing has ever taken me this long to produce - it has been through three phazes!

Its a product of the times.
I try to recycle as much stuff as possible - I spend my life looking for "useful" things.
I see it as a whole.
The frame is as important as the image.

It has all been built with a certain amount of love and care,
to the point where it feels pleasant to hold/ touch/ lift etc.
I'm after a homely feel.

(A better photo is needed!)
This was written for the possible inclusion into an open art exhibition
- something that didnt happen.

Please feel free to say whatever you feel.
I would be more than happy if your comment turns into a longer statement than mine.
I feel it adds to the body of work and as yet you are one of a small nuber of people who read this anyway!

In this brace of blogs, I am trying to sum up the artistic goals I am aiming for. Maybe, more for myself rather than other people although I would like others to read it. I intend to use the sites as places to which I invite people, I dont expecr an immediate rash of people keen to pore over my life. I see it as a kind of glorified C.V. that will probably never get finished.
